STONEHAVEN FARMS
HORSESHOW INFORMATION:
AWARDS AND POINTS INFORMATION

POINTS EARNED FOR RIBBONS:
BLUE - 10, RED - 8, YELLOW - 6, WHITE - 4, PINK - 2, GREEN 1, WARM-UP CLASS – ½.   Rider with the highest number of points for their division of three classes will win championship and a certificate. Rider with the second highest number of points earns reserve champion.  Placing in a warm-up will count to warm-ups division.

DIVISION:
A Division consists of three classes with in the same class title, two classes over fences, and one on the flat. These three classes will be used to determine championships.

SCORE CLASS:
Each rider will be given a score by the judge, based on the quality of round they rode.  Scores 85 - 100 - receive a Blue (10pts); Scores 70 - 85 receive a Red Ribbon (8pts) and no ribbon for placing under 70 points.

CHAMPIONSHIP AND RESERVE:
Each division is made up of three classes, two over fences and one flat. The total number of points earned in these three classes determines the champion and reserve champion of each division.  If there is a tie, rider with the most points earned over fences is awarded Champion; rider with second most points is awarded Reserve Champion.

CLASS AND DIVISION DESCRIPTIONS:
WARM-UP CLASSES          (CLASSES 1, 6, 17, 22, 29)
Open to all exhibitors and horses as a practice round in the show ring before their division. Used as a trial run before your division classes. Judging will be on the horse, and rider’s accurate presentation of the course.  WARM UP CLASS PLACINGS WILL COUNT AS ½ POINT TOWARD DIVISION TOTAL POINTS.

OPEN RIDDEN HUNTER DIVISION       (CLASSES 1, 2, 3, 14)
Open to all riders ADULT, JUNIOR, or Professional, NOT open to Stonehaven School Horses. Fence heights from 2’9” up to 3’ based on riders.  Judging will be on the horse’s accurate presentation of the course.

CHILDREN/ADULT RIDDEN HUNTER DIVISION        (CLASSES 1, 4, 5, 15)
Open to riders, NON-PROFESSIONAL, ADULT OR JUNIOR, riding owned or leased horses.  NOT open to Stonehaven Farm School horses.  Fence heights from 2’3” – 2’6” based on riders. Judging will be on the horse’s accurate presentation of the course.

INTERMEDIATE RIDDEN HUNTER DIVISION        (CLASSES 6, 7, 8, 13)
Open to Advanced School Horse or owners with green horses, ADULT OR JUNIOR (with trainer permission).  Fence height up to 2’3”.   Judging will be on the horse and rider’s accurate presentation of the course.

OPEN STONEHAVEN FREESTYLE MEDAL      (CLASSES 9)
Open to riders, ADULT, JUNIOR, AND NON-PROFESSIONALS, riding owned or leased horses. Judging equitation on the rider only; errors deemed fault of the horse will not be counted based on Judge’s discretion.  These advanced riders will perform a course of their own design to include at least 2 tests from the USEF Equitation tests 1 – 19.  Judging will include score for creativity and difficulty of the course design.  Fence height up to 3’.

INTERMEDIATE STONEHAVEN MEDAL      (CLASSES 10)
Open to all Advanced School Horse Riders, or owners with green horses, ADULT OR JUNIOR. Judging will be on the rider only; errors deemed fault of the horse will not be counted based on Judge’s discretion. Testing will be performed on the top four riders.   Judging will be on the rider’s accurate position, interpretation and presentation of the course.  Fence height up to 2’6”.

EQUITATION ON THE FLAT     (CLASSES 11, 12)
Open to all riders, Adult, Junior, and Non-professional to be judged on the rider’s correct position on the flat.  Points will be added to year end Medal class points.

 HIGH & LOW JUMPERS with PAYBACK       (CLASSES 16)
One half of the cost of the class will be paid back in prize money.  Prize money will be distributed - 1st-50%, 2nd-30%, 3rd-20%, 4th-10%.  The highest height will go 1st and will decrease until all riders have a try at the course.   Fence height 2’3” – 3’3”.

PRIMARY JUNIOR/ADULT EQUITATION DIVISION          (CLASSES 17, 18, 19, 20)
Open to all Junior or Adult rider on a school horse, or who have won their way out of the Novice division on a School horse.  Judging will be on rider’s position, accurate riding and presentation of the course.  Simple changes permitted.  Fence height 1’9” – 2’.

NOVICE JUNIOR & ADULT EQUITATION DIVISION         (CLASSES 21, 22, 23, 24)
Open to all Junior or Adult rider on a school horse, or who have won their way out of the Maiden division.   Simple changes are permitted.   Judging will be on the rider’s position, accurate riding and presentation of the course.  Fence height 1’3” – 1’6”.

STONEHAVEN MINI MEDAL       (Class 25)
Open to all Junior or Adult riders showing in Primary or Novice Divisions. This is an example of the highest level of equitation classes. Riders will work over a more complicated Equitation course.  After completing the first course, the top four riders will be called back for additional testing before the final awards are made.  Fence height 1’6” – 1’9”.

BEGINNER CHILDREN/ ADULT EQUITATION DIVISION          (CLASSES 26, 27)
Open to Child or Adult riders just beginning in their riding.  Flat class will be at walk and trot only.  Ground pole class will work at walk or trot over 4 ground poles.  Judging will be on the rider’s accurate position, riding and presentation of the course. 

MAIDEN CHILDREN/ADULT RIDDEN EQUITATION DIVISION         (CLASSES 28, 29, 30, 31))
Open to all riders in their beginning years of riding that can trot, or canter a small course of X’s.   Judging will be on the rider’s accurate position, riding and presentation of the course.  Trotting and wrong leads will not be penalized.  Fence height X’s only.
